2022 Ballon d'Or Ceremony: a record 1.98 million viewers in France on La chaine L'Équipe

The 2022 Ballon d'Or ceremony drew an average of 1.98 million viewers in France, with a peak audience of 2.5 million when the trophy was awarded to Frenchman Karim Benzema (Real Madrid CF), on La chaine L'Équipe (free DTT), on Monday 17/10/2022, according to data from the audience measurement institute Médiamétrie.

This figure represented an audience share of 8.5% and ranked the DTT channel fourth in the French audiovisual market at prime time on 17/10/2022. The L'Équipe platform (website and application) also recorded 4.5 million unique visitors on its channels, as well as 6.8 million video views on Monday 17/10/2022.

This is a record audience for the ceremony, which drew an average of 1.6 million viewers, with a peak audience of 2 million, during the last edition (on 29/11/2021). Audience share: 6.6%.

This was also the best ever audience for La chaine L'Équipe, a record previously held by the EuroVolley semi-final between France and Serbia (2-3) on 28/09/2019 (1.7 million viewers, 9.2% audience share).
