The DFL (Deutsche Fußball Liga) has distributed €1.5m to 106 amateur clubs below the third division (3.Liga) that have helped train the 60 players who made their Bundesliga or 2.Bundesliga debut in 2021-22, announced the German Professional Football League on 18/10/2022.

This sum has been allocated to amateur clubs that have trained players who have turned professional in the past season. Every club that trained a new professional player between his 6th and 21st birthday is eligible, according to the DFL.

Clubs receive €4,200 for each full training input between the player's 6th and 11th birthdays, and €5,400 per season between their 12th and 21st birthdays. "This reward system, revised by the DFL in favour of amateur clubs, was first implemented in the 2017-18 season. Prior to this date, only the five previous seasons before each player's debut were considered," explained the DFL.

Since the 2017-18 season, "a total of more than €8m has been paid to clubs below 3. Liga," added the DFL.
