• Premier League clubs are discussing a change of format for the Community Shield, the match between the reigning English champions and the FA Cup winners on the Sunday before Matchday 1 of the Premier League, according to The Times. Several options are currently being considered, including changing the date, playing the match abroad, replacing it with a pre-season tournament or an all-star game.
• The German Football Association (DFB) has published a brochure to help clubs reduce their energy costs during the winter.
• Darren Eales, chief executive of Newcastle United FC (Premier League), said the club was open to partnering with Saudi companies funded by the PIF (Saudi Arabia's public investment fund), including for the naming of the club's stadium St James' Park.
• Paris Saint-Germain's Dota 2 team, PSG.LGD, is participating in the final phase of "The International" competition from 20/10/2022. The competition is being held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium (Kallang, SGP), with 12,000 spectators expected to attend.
