2022-23 Ligue 1 Uber Eats: a record 23,850 spectators on average per game after 11 matchdays

"After 110 matches played, the average attendance in Ligue 1 Uber Eats stands at 23,850 spectators per match, the best average ever, up 8% on last season (2021-22) and up 4% on 2019-20," announced the Ligue de Football Professionnel on 21/10/2022. In 2021-22, a handful of matches were played with capacity limits at the beginning of the season, then for three matchdays (20, 21 and 22) with a cap of 5,000 spectators at the start of the season in January 2022. The 2020-21 season, which was heavily impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and the widespread closure, is not included.

This record performance is also reflected in the high fill rates at French league stadiums: "Stadium fill rates have climbed dramatically to 81%, a jump of 11% compared to last season and 7% compared to the 2019-20 season."
