Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022: 2.01 billion unique viewers worldwide (+5% vs 2018)

The Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 posted a total of 2.01 billion unique viewers across the various channels that broadcast the event worldwide, a 5% increase over the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, announced the International Olympic Committee on 20/10/2022.

Among the figures communicated by the IOC:

• 713 billion minutes of the Olympic Games were watched by viewers via the various channels that broadcast the event around the world (+18% compared to 2018);

• 62,305 hours were broadcast in total on the linear channels that held the TV rights to the event worldwide (+3% vs 2018);

• 120,670 hours were broadcast in total on digital channels that broadcast the event worldwide (+24% vs 2018);

• 68 million unique users visited the IOC website and app worldwide (excluding China), between 05/09/2021 and 28/02/2022 (twice as many as in 2018);

• 3.2 billion engagements (likes, comments, shares and video views) were generated on IOC social networks between 05/09/2021 and 28/02/2022.
