Bayern Munich achieve record turnover of €528m in 2013-14 (+ 22%), the Allianz Arena loan repaid

FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) achieved a record turnover of €528m in 2013-14, an increase of 22% over 2012-13 (€432.8m), according to the German magazine Focus on 12/10/2014. Net income for the club amounted to €16.5m, up nearly 18% from 2012-13 (€14m).

Bayern have fully repaid the loan of €340m contracted for the construction of the Allianz Arena (capacity 71,137) in 2005, according to Focus. The loan originally ran for 25 years. The €110m capital increase injected into the club by the German insurer Allianz on 11/02/2014 (for a stake of 8.33% of the capital) was used to repay the loan.

• The increase in revenues was mainly due to Bayern's revenue growth in sponsorship and merchandising, said Focus.
