"The NBA is looking forward to embrace diversity. We invested a lot in NBA Africa and its grassroots programs. We are looking for all commercial aspects on this territory. At a global scale, Africa is significantly behind the rest of the world in terms of sports. But if you are looking for future profitability, you have to invest in Africa," said Kornelia Semmelink, senior director at NBA Africa, at Sportel Monaco 2022 on 24/10/2022.

Kornelia Semmelink participated in the conference "How culture & diversity are shifting the direction of sports media", together with Aarti Dabas, chief media officer at Formula E, Laura Georges, general secretary at the FFF, and Anouk Mertens, global CEO at Neo Studio Production.

"If you look at Formula E, it is an open championship where you can have new drivers. We need to know how we can give them equal opportunities and help the best ones to succeed. We have more than 50 % of women and people of colour in Formula E. The number of female engineers in the garage is fantastic. But they are not visible enough," said Aarti Dabas.
