CIES: Real Madrid have trained the most European Top 5 players ahead of Barça, OL and PSG (2022-23)

Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) is the club that has trained the most active players among the 98 clubs of the European Top 5 (Premier League, LaLiga Santander, Bundesliga, Serie A TIM and Ligue 1 Uber Eats) at the start of 2022-23, with 43 players having passed through its training centre, according to the CIES Football Observatory's Weekly Post, published on 24/10/2022.

In the European Top 5, Real Madrid rank ahead of fellow Spanish club FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander, 46 players trained) and French clubs Olympique Lyonnais and Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats, 34 players each).

Manchester United FC (5^th) is the best training club in the Premier League (28 players), while Atalanta BC ranks highest among the Serie A TIM clubs (8^th, 24 players). FC Bayern Munich (21^st) is the best ranked German club with 17 players trained in the Bavarian academy.

Taking into account the number of active players among the top 31 divisions of UEFA member associations, AFC Ajax (Eredivisie) takes first place with 85 players trained, ahead of SL Benfica (Liga Portugal Bwin, 73 players) and Dinamo…
