Serie A: US Sassuolo removes the barriers between the stands and the field at Mapei Stadium

US Sassuolo (Serie A TIM) is launched the "Stadio aperto senza barrier" (open stadium without barriers) project, a process of the gradual removal of the barriers separating the stands from the field of Mapei Stadium (capacity 20,000) beginning with the match against Juventus (1-1, Matchday 7 of the Serie A) on 18/10/2014.

The project, financed by the company operating the stadium, Mapei Stadium Srl, is supported by the Lega Serie A (Italian Professional Football League), the National Observatory of sporting events, the police and the City of Reggio Emilia, where the stadium is located. "The aim is to secure the stadium, turn it into a meeting place and to encourage education through sport," stated the club. Sassuolo, which aims to attract new audiences to the Mapei Stadium, is primarily targeting families.
