Ligue 2 BKT: "FC Sochaux is not for sale, there are no negotiations underway with Chelsea" (F. Yau)

"I will say it again, strongly and firmly: the club is under no circumstances for sale and there are no negotiations underway with Chelsea FC (Premier League)," said Frankie Yau (CHN), president of FC Sochaux-Montbéliard (Ligue 2 BKT) on 26/10/2022.

"The management of FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, approached by Chelsea FC last September, agreed to meet with representatives of the English club. The latter's wish being to see FCSM acquired by Chelsea FC, the discussions ended very quickly and the Nenking Group firmly stated its intention to retain ownership of the club. Despite this, recent rumours continue to suggest that the London club's management is still pursuing the acquisition of FC Sochaux-Montbéliard," said the club, property of the Chinese group since 27/04/2020 (it was previously owned by another Chinese group, Tech Pro Technology, since July 2015).

"These baseless journalistic ramblings would be amusing if they did not seem to undermine our decisions, our actions and our long-term project at FC Sochaux-Montbéliard," added Frankie Yau.
