Tour de France 2023: start in Bilbao on 01/07/2023, the first 3 stages in the Spanish Basque Country

The route of the 110^th Tour de France and its 21 stages scheduled from 01 to 23/07/2023 was unveiled at the Palais des Congrès in Paris (FRA) by Amaury Sport Organisation and Christian Prudhomme, director of the event, on 27/10/2022.

The Tour de France 2023 will start in Bilbao (ESP), capital of the Vizcaya province and the largest city in the Spanish Basque Country, on 01/07/2023. The first three stages will start in the Spanish Basque Country and the participants will arrive in France on the third day, with a stage finish in Bayonne (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) on 03/07/2023.

The 3,404-kilometre route (including only 22 km of time trials) will cover the five mountain massifs of France (30 passes), including the climbs of the Grand Colombier (Ain) and the Col de la Loze (Savoie, the highest point of the Tour at a 2,304 metres altitude), as well as a finish at the Puy-de-Dôme (Auvergne) on 09/07/2023, 35 years after the Tour's last visit in Auvergne.
