Germany/Bundesliga: Sat.1 acquires the free-to-air TV rights to 4 additional matches (2022-2024)

The German broadcasting group ProSiebenSat.1 has acquired the free-to-air TV rights, for Germany, to four additional Bundesliga matches (two per season) as part of a sublicensing agreement with the pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, announced the group on 24/10/2022.

ProSiebenSat.1 will broadcast these two additional matches per season on its free-to-air channel Sat.1. The group already holds the broadcasting rights for three Bundesliga matches per season (on Matchdays 1, 17 and 18), as well as the play-offs, over the 2021-2025 cycle. These rights were acquired via the German League's (DFL) call for tenders on 22/06/2020.

Sky Deutschland holds the rights to the Saturday matches (200 games per season, six per matchday on average) of the Bundesliga, including multiplexes, to the German Supercup and to all 2.Bundesliga matches for the 2021-2025 cycle. The OTT platform DAZN holds the rights to the Friday and Sunday matches (106 games per season, three per matchday on average).
