Women's football/USA: 915,000 viewers for the 2022 NWSL Championship on CBS (record)

Portland Thorns FC - Kansas City Current (2-0), the 2022 NWSL Championship, drew an average of 915,000 viewers on the US English-language channel CBS, a 71% increase in audience compared to the 2021 final, announced the US pay-TV package CBS Sports (owned by US conglomerate Paramount Global) on 01/11/2022.

This is the highest audience for an NWSL game since the launch of the league in 2013. Paramount+ also posted its highest audience for an NWSL game broadcast on its OTT platform. The previous audience record was held by Chicago Red Stars - Houston Dash (0-2), the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup final, which drew an average of 653,000 viewers on CBS on 26/07/2020.

Chicago Red Stars - Washington Spirit (1-2), the 2021 NWSL Championship, had drawn an average of 525,000 viewers on CBS on 20/11/2021.
