The average value of Manchester City FC's starting line-up for Premier League matches, in terms of transfer costs, is €605m since the start of the 2022-23 season, according to the CIES Football Observatory in its Weekly Post published on 31/10/2022.

The English club has the highest average spend in the European Top 5, ahead of Paris Saint-Germain (€510m) and Manchester United FC (€480m).

In absolute value over a single match, the most expensive starting line-up is that of Manchester City with €726m spent to field the team that started against Brighton & Hove Albion FC in the Premier League on 22/10/2022. Manchester United is in second place with €640m spent on transfer fees to field their starting line-up against Newcastle United FC on 16/10/2022. The maximum value of Paris Saint-Germain's starting line-up for a Ligue 1 match in 2022-23 was €610m versus Olympique de Marseille, also on 16/10/2022.
