"On Matchdays 13 and 14 in the Bundesliga, and Matchdays 15 and 16 in Bundesliga 2 (04-06/11 and 08-09/11/2022), German professional football will pay tribute to the commitment of voluntary helpers throughout Germany," announced the Deutsche Fussball Liga (DFL) on 04/11/2022.

This is the 25th edition of the campaign entitled "Dank ans ehrenamt" (thanks to the volunteers), which was launched in 1997 in collaboration with the German Football Association (DFB), which provides video content, banners and illustrations for social media. It is usually held on 05/12 on the occasion of International Volunteer Day, which this year falls in the middle of the 2022 World Cup, which is why the event has been brought forward exceptionally.
