Euro 2032: Giorgia Meloni's government supports the FIGC's bid to host the competition

An event of "public interest and national importance", this is how Andrea Abodi, Italian Minister for Sport and Youth Affairs Giorgia Meloni's (extreme right) government, defines Euro 2032 in the letter of support to UEFA for the FIGC's bid to host the competition, according to the Italian Federation on 07/11/2022.

This letter from Andrea Abodi will be attached to the preliminary bid dossierbid d that the FIGC is currently finalising and which must reach UEFA by Wednesday 16/11/2022, the last deadline. The final bid must be presented by 13/03/2023. A decision by the UEFA executive committee is expected in September 2023. Italy is in competition with Turkey.

"I would like to thank Minister Abodi, with whom we are pleased to collaborate, and the entire government, which has confirmed how strategic this project is for the development of the country as a whole," said Gabriele Gravina, president of the FIGC.
