USA: 2.16 million viewers for the MLS Cup final, Los Angeles-Philadelphia, on Fox, Univision & TUDN

Los Angeles FC - Philadelphia Union (3-3 after extra time, 5-4 on penalties), the 2022 MLS Cup final, drew an average of 2.16 million viewers on the English-language free-to-air channel Fox (Fox Sports) and the Spanish-language channels Univision (free-TV) and TUDN (pay-TV) owned by the TelevisaUnivision group in the United States on 05/11/2022, a 38% increase in viewership over the 2021 final, according to data from the American audience measurement institute Nielsen.

The game drew an average of 1.49 million viewers on Fox, while 668,000 tuned in to TelevisaUnivision channels. This is the second highest audience ever for an MLS final, and the best audience for a final since 1997. It was also the second most-watched football match in the USA in 2022, behind the 2021-22 Champions League final, Real Madrid CF - Liverpool FC (1-0 victory for Madrid), which drew an average of 5.36 million viewers on the English-language channel CBS, as well as Univision and TUDN on 28/05/2022.
