USA: ESPN+ (OTT) had 24.3 million subscribers on 01/10/2022 (+7.2 million in one year)

ESPN+, an American OTT sports platform launched on 12/04/2018, had 24.3 million subscribers as of 01/10/2022 (an increase of 7.2 million subscribers in one year), according to annual results published by The Walt Disney Company, parent company of the ESPN pay-TV sports package, on 08/11/2022.

The platform is now available at a monthly price of $9.99 (same price in euros) per month since 23/08/2022, instead of $6.99 previously. Disney+, the group's other OTT platform launched on 12/11/2019, alone had 164.2 million subscribers worldwide on 01/10/2022 (+46.1 million subscribers in one year).

"2022 was a strong year for Disney, with outstanding subscriber growth at our direct-to-consumer services, which added nearly 57 million subscriptions this year for a total of more than 235 million," said Bob Chapek, CEO of the US media and entertainment conglomerate, which posted revenues of $82.72bn (€82.75bn) for the fiscal year 2022, including $20.15bn (same amount in euros) in the fourth quarter alone.
