"Premier League clubs today unanimously approved the introduction of the Premier League Fan Engagement Standard (FES), which will be implemented by clubs this season (2022-23)," announced the English league on 08/11/2022.

All clubs are required to publish a "fan engagement plan" by January 2023 for the current season, and then at the beginning of each season, in order to outline the actions and activities they are planning. In addition, "this will include a list of all Heritage Assets that it regards in scope for fan consultation."

This standard implies a series of commitments for each club, starting with the establishment of a fan advisory board, whose main objective is to engage in discussions, exchange information and gather feedback from fans. Each club will also be required to appoint "a board-level official" to lead on fan engagement initiatives, which will result in the publication of a dedicated annual report.
