LaLiga: a turnover of €1.94bn in 2021-22 (+1.2%), including 92.1% from TV rights

LaLiga closed the 2021-22 financial year with a turnover (including subsidiaries) of €1.941,801bn, an increase of 1.2% on the 2020-21 season (€1.917,985bn), according to the Spanish Professional League's annual accounts (document available to download), published on 14/11/2022.

92.1% of this turnover (€1.788bn) comes from the audiovisual rights to LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank, which are down very slightly (-0.4%) compared to 2020-21. LaLiga paid out a total of €1.656,126bn to the 42 clubs in both leagues (-2.4%).

The second most important revenue stream for LaLiga, "sponsorships and licences", rose by 26.4% to €131.7m, thanks mainly to new agreements signed by the body with players in the NFT and Web3 sectors (Sorare, Socios.com, Dapper Labs and TVM).

In addition to a financial statement particularly impacted by the agreement concluded with the investment fund CVC Capital Partners during the financial year, these 2021-22 accounts show a net loss of just over €6m, compared with €16.2m on 30/06/2021.
