esports: Singapore to host the first Olympic Esports Week from 22-25/06/2023

The IOC will hold the first Olympic Esports Week from 22 to 25/06/2023 in Singapore, in partnership with the Singapore Ministry of Culture, Community, Youth and Sport, and the country's National Olympic Committee, announced the body on 16/11/2022.

The event "will showcase the best of virtual sports - hybrid physical and simulated sports - with the four-day festival, including exhibiting the latest technologies, panel discussions, education sessions and show matches," explained the IOC.

"The highlight of the week will be the first in-person live finals of the Olympic Esports Series, a global virtual and simulated sports competition created in collaboration with the International Federations," contiuned the IOC.

The International Olympic Committee organised the first-ever Olympic Virtual Series, the first-ever Olympic licensed event for physical and non-physical virtual sports, online from 13/05 to 23/06/2021.
