Major League Soccer: Apple to display Apple TV's logo on the sleeves of all 29 franchises from 2023

Apple, a US electronics and technology company, will display the logo of its Apple TV (VoD) application on the shirt sleeves of all 29 Major League Soccer franchises from the 2023 season, announced the brand on 16/11/2022.

Unveiled by St. Louis City FC, the 29^th franchise to join the North American league, the patch will be a different colour on each team's shirt. The move is part of Apple's acquisition of exclusive global broadcasting rights to MLS for the 2023-2032 cycle (10 seasons) for an estimated total of $250m (€238m, or $2.5m/€2.38m per season) on 14/06/2022.

The Apple TV logo will be displayed on the left sleeve of the franchises' shirts. Teams will still be allowed to market the right sleeve sponsorship space, as has been the case since 2020. This sleeve sponsorship programme is subject to a four-season trial period ending in 2023, and is reserved for clubs that already have a main shirt sponsor.
