Qatar 2022: seven of the eight World Cup stadiums built specifically for the event

Eight stadiums will host the 64 matches of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, seven of which were built especially for the event, for an estimated investment of €6bn. Only the Khalifa International Stadium was already in existence on 02/12/2010, when Qatar obtained a favourable vote from FIFA to become the host country of the XXII edition of the World Cup.

The eight World Cup venues (in chronological order of the first matches of Qatar 2022):
