Euro 2016: a financial contribution from UEFA "exceeding €50 million" for the 10 host cities

UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) will provide a total financial contribution "exceeding € 50 million" to the 10 host Euro 2016 sites (finals in France from 10/06 to 10/10/2016), said the EURO 2016 SAS, the organiser of the tournament, after the meeting in Bordeaux of the Euro 2016 steering committee on 23/10/2014.

The club of the host cities, chaired by Alain Juppé, mayor of Bordeaux, had asked UEFA "to allocate a specific endowment fund for sports facilities nearby, including to for disadvantaged populations." The quoted "exceeding €50 million" amount includes the €21m that UEFA will pay in rent for the 10 stadiums that will host the competition.
