Massimo Moratti has resigned from his post as honorary president of FC Internazionale (Serie A TIM), and has left the board of the club on 23/10/2014.

Massimo Moratti was the majority shareholder of Inter Milan from 18/02/1995 until 15/11/2013, when he sold 70% of the club to ISC (International Sports Capital), the group of the Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir, who succeeded him as president of the club. Since then, Massimo Moratti has remained a minority shareholder of the club, through his company International Holding Srl, with a 29.5% stake.

Three other members of the Inter Milan board also resign

  • Angelomario Moratti (son Massimo Moratti, and a club vice-president), Rinaldo Ghelfi and Alberto Manzonetto, members of Massimo Moratti's Internazionale Holding Srl company, which owns 29.5% of Inter Milan, have also left the board of the club on 23/10/2014.
  • Massimo Moratti's decision could be related to a conflicting relationship with Walter Mazzarri, the current manager of Inter Milan, as well as differences in views on the overall policy of the club led by Erick Thohir.
