Sports betting: La Française de Jeux (FDJ) to acquire ZEturf group (horse betting) & its brand ZEbet

La Française des Jeux is to acquire the ZEturf group, an online horse betting and sports betting operator under the ZEbet brand, announced the French betting and lottery group on 17/11/2022. FDJ had previously announced it was entering into exclusive negotiations with the operator on 19/09/2022.

"Founded in 2001, the ZEturf group has around a hundred employees and generated nearly €50m in revenue in 2021. The transaction puts the ZEturf group's value at €175m," said FDJ. The transaction is expected to be completed in the second half of 2023. "Additional consideration may be paid depending on performance in 2023," added the French group.

"With this transaction and the launch of our poker range, which together strengthen our growth prospects, FDJ is optimally positioned to become a major player in the French market for online games open to competition, while remaining true to our recreational, responsible and redistributive gaming model," said Stéphane Pallez, CEO of the FDJ group.
