"Paris deserves a better stadium," said Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, president of Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats), to the American media Bloomberg, on 23/11/2022.

"We’ve spent €70m upgrading the Parc des Princes (Paris, FRA) but it’s not our stadium," said the Qatari. The Paris stadium belongs to the City of Paris, which rents the stadium to the club under a public domain occupation agreement extended in 2013 for 30 years (the annual rent includes a fixed part of €1m and a variable part that reaches about €1.5m). The club has already offered to buy the Parc des Princes from the city, but the latter is demanding too much money, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi told Bloomberg.

"My first option is we don't move. But the city of Paris is pushing us to move," continued Al-Khelaïfi, lamenting a lack of support from the city in the face of the shareholder's desire to expand the Parc des Princes (47,929 capacity), and claiming to have a total of three options in the event of a change of stadium, without revealing any of them.
