SV Werder Bremen: a turnover of €102.2m and net profit of €6.3m for the 2021-22 season

SV Werder Bremen GmbH & Co. KGaA, a wholly-owned trading company belonging to Sport Verein Werder Bremen (Bundesliga), posted a turnover of €102.2m for the 2021-22 financial year (01/07/2021 to 30/06/2022), down 12.4% compared to the 2020-21 financial year (€116.7m), announced the Bremen (Lower Saxony, GER) club at its general assembly on 20/11/2022.

"The relegation to the 2.Bundesliga resulted (at the end of the 2020-21 season) in some significant revenue losses. The stay in the 2^nd division had a negative impact on sponsorship revenue of €17.3m (-€5.7m compared to the previous year, €23m) and especially on media revenue of €22.6m (-€40.8m compared to the previous year, €64.3m)," explained the club. They rose from €0.5m in 2020-21 to €16.2m for the year 2022 for the club promoted to the Bundesliga at the end of the 2021-22 season.

The club also posted a net profit of €6.3m, compared to a net loss of €7.1m at the end of the 2020-21 financial year.
