Vinci Stadium, a subsidiary of Vinci Concessions and specialising in the operation of sports venues, is in advanced negotiations for the operation of the Olympic Stadium in London (capacity 54,000) for the 2015-2025 period, according to News Tank sources on 24/10/2014.

E20 Stadium LLP, a joint venture between the LLDC (body responsible for the conversion of the stadium used during the 2012 Olympic Games in London) and the borough of Newham council, currently manages the enclosure, which belongs to the Greater London Authority (GLA). The French Vinci Stadium group is currently the favourite for the operation of the stadium, which will host West Ham United FC (Barclays Premier League) from July 2016. Vinci is competing with the American promoter of sporting and entertainment events AEG (Anschutz Entertainment Group), which operates the O2 Arena (capacity 20,000) in London. The decision is expected by the end of 2014.

  • The stadium will host the British Athletics Federation. It will also host five matches of the Rugby World Cup in 2015.
