NFL: a record audience & a sold-out stadium in Munich for the league's first ever game in Germany

The first-ever National Football League regular season game played in Germany, between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Seattle Seahawk (21-16) on 13/11/2022 at the Allianz Arena in Munich, was sold out with 69,811 spectators, announced the North American League on 17/11/2022.

The game (kick-off 15:30 CET) held at the home of FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) was watched by an average of 5.8 million viewers in the USA. This is the highest audience for an NFL game outside North America. In Germany, the game, which was broadcast by the German free and pay-TV group ProSieben, broke the audience record for an American league regular season game, with an average audience of 2.7 million.

Fanatics, the NFL's exclusive retail operator in Europe, also announced that the event generated record merchandising revenue for the NFL (outside the USA) on the day of the game at the Allianz Arena.
