Qatar 2022: more than 300,000 subscribers to the OTT platform Gol Mundial (Mediapro) in Spain

The OTT platform Gol Mundial, launched by Mediapro to broadcast all the matches of the 2022 World Cup in Spain, has registered more than 300,000 subscribers since the beginning of the competition, according to the Spanish audiovisual group on 23/11/2022.

Mediapro is marketing the platform for €19.99 as a one-off payment. The Spanish group says that women make up 30% of Gol Mundial's audience, and that more than 26% of the audience is represented by the 18-34 age group. "The World Cup also has a significant impact on social media. Content related to the competition has exceeded 50 million impressions, 300,000 interactions and more than 15,000 mentions on Gol Mundial's social networks," explained Mediapro.

Mediapro acquired the broadcasting rights to the 2022 World Cup from FIFA on 18/01/2019. The group then sub-licensed the rights to the Spanish public broadcasting group RTVE and to the telecommunications operator Telefonica.
