Real Madrid: agreement with the Community of Madrid to renovate the Santiago Bernabéu metro station

Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) and the Community of Madrid (ESP) have reached an agreement to renovate the Santiago Bernabéu metro station, which leads to the stadium of the same name, announced the club on 24/11/2022.

The project for the metro station, which includes an "a Real Madrid-related immersive theme", aims to "to increase its capacity to cater for a higher number of passengers, especially on matchdays, to ensure universal accessibility and to improve the areas around the stadium," explained the Madrid club, which owns the stadium. The work is scheduled to start at the end of 2023, a few months after the inauguration of the renovated Santiago Bernabéu (scheduled for the first quarter of 2023). Details of the financing of the project, its cost and the estimated date of completion of the works have not been communicated as of 28/11/2022.
