Juventus FC: LaLiga calls for immediate sporting sanctions against the Italian club

"Following the resignation of the Juventus FC (Serie A TIM) board of directors late Monday 28/11/2022, LaLiga demands immediate sports sanctions to be applied on the club," said the Spanish Professional Football League on 29/11/2022.

"Upon proposal of the chairman Andrea Agnelli all the members of the board of directors present at the meeting (28/11/2022) declared to forego their office," announced Juventus on 28/11/2022. This collective resignation follows the accounting manipulations deemed illegal and denounced by the Italian Financial Markets Authority (Consob/Commissione nazionale per le società e la Borsa) for the last few financial periods of the Turin club, which is listed on the stock exchange. Irregularities concerning the treatment of salaries and the costs of "cross transfers" between clubs are among the allegations. An investigation opened by the public prosecutor's office in Turin in May 2021 is currently underway.
