Nigeria: High Court annuls the election of Amaju Pinnick as the head of the Federation

The High Court of Nigeria has annulled, on 24/10/2014, the election of Amaju Pinnick as president of the NFF (Nigerian Football Federation) on 30/09/2014. The High Court recognises, however, the election of 26/08/2014, which installed Christopher Giwa as president of the Nigerian Federation.

FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) refused to recognize Christopher Giwa as president of the federation and threatened to suspend the NFF if new elections were not organised by 01/09/2014. Following this injunction, Amaju Pinnick was elected president of the NFF until 2018, at the extraordinary congress of the Federation in Warri (Nigeria) on 30/09/2014.
