The Walt Disney Company has completed the acquisition of sports broadcasting company BAMTech, of which it already owned 85%, from Major League Baseball (MLB), announced the American group on 29/11/2022. The remaining 15% of the company was acquired for $900m (€862m as of 01/12/2022).

Following this operation, BAMTech is now valued at $6bn (€5.85bn). Each of the 30 franchises in the North American baseball league will receive $30m (€28.7m) as a result of the transaction.

The Walt Disney Company had previously acquired 33% of BAMTech for $1bn (approximately €896m) on 09/08/2016, then 42% for $1.58bn (€1.34bn), bringing its stake to 75%, on 07/08/2017. BAMTech changed its name to "Disney Streaming Services" on 11/04/2019. The American group then bought the NFL's shares (10%) for an estimated $350m (€298.4m) on 12/01/2022.
