"FIFPro reaffirms that we will not play the 2022 World Cup in the summer," said Philippe Piat, president of FIFPro (International Federation of Professional Footballers) on 26/10/2014.

"To my surprise, I read, like everyone else, that the EPFL (Association of European Professional Leagues,) voiced by Frederic Thiriez and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (chairman of the ECA, the European Club Association), was no longer in favour of a change in date for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which everyone wants to see played in the winter," said Philippe Piat.

The EPFL has expressed concern about the negative consequences of a possible winter 2022 World Cup in Qatar at its general assembly in Stockholm (Sweden), 23 and 24/10/2014.
