Premier League: Christian Purslow to run the global business of Chelsea FC

The Englishman Christian Purslow will run the "global commercial activities" of Chelsea FC (Barclays Premier League), the club announced on 27/10/2014. Christian Purslow, 50 years old, was the managing director of Liverpool FC (Barclays Premier League) from June 2009 to October 2010.

"The club has ambitious plans to build the Premier League's most pioneering global commercial programme, partnering with innovative and market-leading organisations from around the world," read a statement from Chelsea.

  • The Englishman Ron Gourlay is stepping down as the chief executive of Chelsea FC (Barclays Premier League) to "pursue new business opportunities," announced the club on 22/10/2014.
  • "Pending additional appointments, chairman Bruce Buck and director Marina Granovskaia will assume additional executive responsibilities," said the club.
  • "Chelsea does not expect to announce any other senior appointments in the near future," said the club after the appointment of Christian Purslow on 27/10/2014.
