Instagram: Real Madrid, Barça & PSG, the most followed clubs in the European Top 5 (December 2022)

With 128.5 million followers, Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) remain the most followed European club on the social network Instagram, ahead of FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander, 114.2 million) and Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Uber Eats, 63.9 million), according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/12/2022.

The Madrid club posted the best increase in absolute value with 1.1 million additional followers accumulated during November 2022. FC Barcelona (+913,842) and Manchester City FC (+741,899) complete the podium.

The best percentage growth was posted by SC Freiburg (Bundesliga), who registered a 35.3% increase in their number of followers. Club Atletico Osasuna (LaLiga Santander, +6.5%) posted the second best percentage growth over the period and AC Ajaccio (Ligue 1 Uber Eats, +4.7%) the third best.

10 clubs (out of 98) posted a drop in their number of followers, starting with Manchester United FC (Premier League), which lost 582,711 followers in one month, partly due to the departure of Portuguese player Cristiano Ronaldo announced on 22/11/2022.
