Qatar 2022: Bundesliga, the league where players have played the most matches until the age of 23

The Bundesliga is the league in which the players taking part in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar have played the most matches before their 23^rd birthday, with a total of 5,151 matches played, for 363,135 minutes on the pitch, according to the CIES Football Observatory's Weekly Post published on 05/12/2022.

In terms of cumulative matches, the German league is ahead of LaLiga Santander (4,676 matches) and the Premier League (4,623). In terms of the number of minutes played by players selected for the 2022 World Cup, the Bundesliga is ahead of the Premier League (326,105 minutes) and the Ligue 1 Uber Eats (318,666).

Among the 32 qualified teams, 110 players played in the Premier League before they turned 23. The next most popular leagues are the Bundesliga (99 players) and Ligue 1 (92).
