Qatar 2022: FIFA offers augmented reality experiences for spectators in the 8 stadiums

FIFA, through its FIFA+ platform, is offering the "FIFA+ Stadium Experience", an augmented reality offering for fans attending one of the eight 2022 World Cup stadiums in Qatar, said the body via its Twitter account on 02/12/2022.

"Fans entering a World Cup stadium on matchday and who have enabled location services with the FIFA+ app, will see an exclusive Stadium Experience section which will take them straight into the action. All fans can make use of the following features to enhance their matchday experience on FIFA+: video replays and different camera angles, including VAR replays as on TV," explained FIFA.

FIFA launched FIFA+, "a digital platform created to connect football fans across the globe more deeply with the game they love, for free" on 04/12/2022. Available in ten languages, the platform offers 40,000 live matches per year, access to FIFA's archives (all matches from the men's and women's World Cups), original programmes and an information and statistics centre for men's and women's competitions. For the 2022 World Cup, the application also offers a fantasy league.
