Olympic & Paralympic Games: German Olympic Sports Confederation reconsiders the possibility of a bid

The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) has presented a "participatory strategy process to precede a possible Olympic bid for Germany" at its 19th General Assembly on 03/12/2022.

"The assembly unanimously endorsed a resolution on a multi-stage strategy process for a possible bid for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Miriam Welte and Oliver Stegemann (vice-presidents) presented a road map, the first stage of which will be a nationwide series of discussion forums with supporters, critics and stakeholders from business, politics, culture and other areas of society. In an open and transparent process, the why should be discussed before the question of possible details such as when, where or how," said the DOSB.

At the general assembly, Thomas Weikert was re-elected as president of the German Olympic Sports Confederation (434 votes in his favour, i.e. 99% of the vote) until 2026.
