Liga BBVA clubs have more than 27,200 season tickets holders on average in 2014-15. The Spanish league is ahead of the Bundesliga (25,522 season ticket holders), the Serie A TIM (14,085) and Ligue 1 (12,455) in 2014-15. The Barclays Premier League clubs documented an average number of season ticket holders of 23,800 in 2012-13, the last available data.

Clubs with the largest base of fans often make the choice to stop selling season tickets after a pre-defined maximum number. This is the case of Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga), which set the number of season tickets at 55,000, or 68% of the capacity of Signal Iduna Park (capacity 80,500). FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) set the season ticket number at 39,500, or 56% of the capacity of the Allianz Arena (capacity 71,000). German clubs, which have a policy of maintaining ticket availability, develop their matchday revenue by reserving a significant portion of their tickets for sale by match.
