Merchandising: Fanatics (USA) valued at $31bn (€29.4bn) according to Forbes

The American licensed sports products manufacturer and distributor Fanatics is now valued at up to $31bn (€29.4bn) following a round of financing of around $700m (€665.2m) led by Californian investment firm Clearlake Capital, according to the US business magazine Forbes on 06/12/2022.

Among the shareholders of the American company that also participated in the financing round were the investment bank LionTree (USA) and the investment funds Fidelity Investments (USA), Silver Lake (USA) and SoftBank (JPN). This new valuation represents a 15% increase compared to March 2022 ($27bn/€24.2m).

Clearlake Capital, the fund behind this financial transaction, is part of the consortium that bought Chelsea FC (Premier League) alongside Todd Boehly (USA), Mark Walter (USA) and Hansjoerg Wyss (SUI) on 30/05/2022. The deal was worth £2.5bn (€2.92bn). The US fund has over $70bn (€66.5bn) in assets under management as of 06/12/2022.
