Rugby/New Zealand: Sky acquires TV rights to EPCR competitions for several seasons

Sky has acquired the exclusive broadcasting rights to the Heineken Champions Cup and Challenge Cup for its New Zealand subsidiary as part of a "multi-year deal," announced the pay-TV package on 07/12/2022.

The rights, acquired from European Professional Club Rugby, give Sky New Zealand the right to broadcast 63 Champions Cup matches per season, with a "match of the week" on Saturday mornings (kick-off at 20:00 GMT, 21:00 CET on Friday nights). Sky will also broadcast a quarter-final, a semi-final and the final of the Challenge Cup.

"This deal is a great one for Sky's customers, securing the best of top-tier European club rugby for years to come. Our focus is always on ensuring we have the sport content that fans love, and that we deliver it on platforms that work for them," said Adam Crothers, head of sport partnerships at Sky New Zealand.
