Real Betis: Estadio Benito-Villamarin renovation, financed by LaLiga Impulso, to begin in 2024

The renovation of the Estadio Benito Villamarín (Seville, Andalusia, ESP), the home of Real Betis Balompié (LaLiga Santander), will begin in 2024 and is expected to take between 18 and 20 months, according to José Miguel López Catalán (ESP), vice chairman of the club, on 28/11/2022.

The project includes the construction of a roof, an upgrade of the stadium's exterior and the creation of new hospitality and event spaces. The aim is to "increase annual revenues by €15m-€20m, from €100m to €150m in total revenue within three to five years," explained the vice chairman. The capacity of the stadium (60,721) owned by the Sevillian municipality is not expected to change.

"The funds from CVC Capital Partners, received as part of LaLiga Impulso, will be used for this purpose. We will get a total of €96m," said José Miguel López Catalán, without giving the precise cost of the work on the stadium.
