Qatar 2022: AFC Ajax (Eredivisie), the club that has produced the most World Cup players

AFC Ajax (Eredivisie) is the club that has trained the most players participating in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with 11 players staying at the club for at least three years between their 15^th and 21^st birthdays, according to a study by the CIES Football Observatory published on 12/12/2022.

The Dutch club is ahead of Deportivo Saprissa (10 players, Costa Rica), Al-Sadd SC (nine players, Qatar) and a trio formed by Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia), Sporting Clube de Portugal (Liga Portugal Bwin) and Independiente del Valle (Ecuador), all tied with eight players trained and present in Qatar.

Manchester City FC (Premier League) is the team whose club-trained players represent the most nations at the 2022 World Cup (players in six national teams), while Ajax, Dinamo Zagreb and Sporting Portugal were the training clubs with the most presence in the Round of 16, with eight club-trained players still in the competition.
