Gianni Infantino (ITA/SUI), president of FIFA, and David Aganzo (ESP), president of FIFPro, have signed a heads of agreement in Doha (QAT) on 10/12/2022, on the sidelines of the 2022 World Cup, which describes the cooperation agreement for professional footballers that the two organisations say they will finalise "in the coming months," announced the two bodies on 11/12/2022.

The future agreement is based on seven key areas (listed below), including the role of players in decision-making, the future of national team football, the conditions of employment for national and international players and the men's and women's international calendar.

"We have been increasingly engaging with FIFPro across many levels in the last few years and this is another step in the right direction," said Gianni Infantino.

"I am pleased we have started working towards a new cooperation agreement that will take more steps to put players at the heart of the decision-making and development of professional football," said David Aganzo.
