F1: a resignation & three team principals appointed including Frédéric Vasseur at Ferrari

Frenchman Frédéric Vasseur has been appointed team principal and general manager of Scuderia Ferrari (Formula 1), announced the Italian team on 13/12/2022. He succeeds Italian Mattia Binotto, who announced his resignation on 29/11/2022, effective on 31/12/2022. Frédéric Vasseur will take up his duties "from January 2023."

The Frenchman has been the team principal and CEO of Alfa Romeo F1 Team Orlen (SUI) since July 2017, when he took over from Austrian-Indian Monisha Kaltenborn (the team was then known as the Sauber F1 Team). He is now set to lead a third Formula One team in his career, having been at the helm of Renault F1 Team (FRA, now BWT Alpine F1 Team) during the 2016 season.

While the Swiss team has not yet appointed a replacement for Frédéric Vasseur as team principal, it appointed a new CEO on 13/12/2022: German Andreas Seidl, who has been the team principal at McLaren Racing since the 2019 season. Seidl promoted Italian Andrea Stella, who had held the position of race director at the British team since 2015, to his former post, the same day.
