Bernard Laporte/Mohed Altrad Trial: New Zealand Rugby to review its jersey partnership with Altrad

New Zealand Rugby will hold an emergency meeting "following the verdict against Mohed Altrad", whose eponymous construction company is the main jersey sponsor of the six New Zealand national rugby teams, announced the Federation on 13/12/2022. 

This announcement follows the conviction of Mohed Altrad by the Paris Criminal Court for active corruption, influence peddling, misuse of corporate assets and concealment of misuse of corporate assets, on 13/12/2022. He was fined €50,000, given an 18-month suspended prison sentence and banned from involvement in rugby for two years. These sanctions result from the "corruption pact" between the businessman and Bernard Laporte, president of the FFR, which had notably led to the signature of a sponsorship contract making Altrad the main shirt sponsor of the French national team (since 2017).
