Italy/Serie A TIM: AGCOM approves guidelines for the marketing of TV rights (2024-2027 cycle)

"The Authority's Council, at its meeting on 14/12/2022, approved the guidelines for the marketing of Serie A TIM broadcasting rights for the 2024-25, 2025-26 and 2026-27 seasons," announced the Italian communications regulatory authority (AGCOM), on 14/12/2022.

"The Authority has recommended the use of procedures for the allocation of rights that allow the widest broadcasting of matches to users. Guidelines have been inserted to ensure service compliance and transmission quality as well as to guarantee the reading of audiences according to the parameters indicated by the Authority. The guidelines have also introduced the obligation for the Lega Serie A to guarantee the exercise of the right to report by providing footage from the stands," explained AGCOM.

AGCOM's decision comes after the Italian clubs had initially unanimously approved the guidelines for the centralised marketing of Serie A TIM audiovisual rights for the 2024-2027 cycle on 28/09/2022.

• Lega Serie A would like to market the domestic Serie A TIM TV rights for the 2024-2027 cycle, before the end of the 2022-23 season.
